Thank you for visiting EasyOnMe. I needed a place to discuss news about my other site, eSnipe, but there’s so much more coming that it deserved a place of its own. We’ll be discussing
- What’s changing at eSnipe
- What you don’t like about eSnipe and how you’d like us to improve it
- How to make a better living and think in new ways
- EasyOnMe’s solution to getting your business on the web fast and inexpensively without relying on a webmaster
- How to get great deals in the online auction world
- Just fun stuff
I’d love it if you’d post comments. They won’t get approved right away because this is a moderated blog, but that means you won’t have to wade through comment spam, either.
eBay sellers: care to guest blog?
eSnipe has a lot of users and gets an astonishing number of page views. If you have something interesting to say about the eBay world, even if it’s just about your own business, drop me a line via the Contact page. I’d love to see some guest bloggers here. I don’t mind self-serving posts either as long as they benefit the reader too. We’ll include a link to your site if we publish your post.

Dear Tom Campbell, my respected CEO,
While you are planing to have new version(s)of e-Snipe; Please do “maintain” this old version, which I am so familiar and delightful. I am 100% happy with the version I am using. To me, I beg you, at least do “still” maintain the current version. I am a senior person and your loyal customer. I do not want to learn something more complicated and so called fancy new version at all!! Sincerely, from your many years, probably way back to when you started, very old customer, Dr. James Wu PS: If you want my eBay ID: please do ask me; because I am using my old original name for the shipping address on your website.
While you are planing to have a new version(s), please do still maintain the current old version, which I am so familiar and happy with it. Thanks! I am a senior person and your many years old loyal customer.
@Dr. Wu:
That’s always a problem with changes like this. I think you’ll find that most of the design carries over directly. I will however consider keeping the old version as an option. It’s definitely not out of the questions.
Thank you very much for being a customer for so long.
Cheers,
Tom Campbell
@Dr Wu, I hear you! I take these comments very seriously. Thanks so much for being such a good customer and for the very kind remarks.
Cheers,
Tom Campbell
Hi, I too like the site just as it is! I don’t need a lot of extra items/upgrades that I
) I had a very hard time when
won’t use. I just want to bid and be done with it.
ebay changed its format and even had to change my browser/server/etc. I almost
decided it wasn’t worth it. The current format is easy to use and even to explain to
people to whom I recommend this site so often. I know the tech world wants to
keep changing to new and better and more..some of us like tried and true.
Thank you for providing such a great service. Your support is also the best I have
ever used.
Candace
@Candace McMaster: Thanks for that feedback. I admit I’m surprised that so many people just like eSnipe the way it is. This sort of supports my old idea that eSnipe is almost more of a utility than an interactive site. All these comments are striking.
Cheers,
Tom Campbell
Don’t forget bandwidth. More people than one thinks are still on dial-up. Like Craigslist.org keep it simple to run and simple to load.
Thanks
Rick
@Rick, we haven’t done testing on dialup, I have to admit. It is always in our interest to keep page load times reasonably low, and I don’t think the new format will be too bandwidth-hungry.
Hi Tom, As one of your very early and still very happy and very frequent users I would like to cast my vote to keep eSnipe just as it is. It works, its intuitive, many of us have gotten over the learning curve – don’t mess with success. I especially like bid groups for successful low balling. It’s a fantastic advantage. Keep up the good work. And, watch out for those ducks….
@Frank J, I hear you loud and clear. I confess to have been caught off guard by the strength of the early users’ response to my threat to change the site! BTW I’m pretty sure I remember corresponding with you in the early days of the site when I did support! Thanks so much for being a longtime customer. And man, those imaginary ducks… a bit scary, that!
This is a repeat of an e-mail I sent to your tech help before I know about this blog. Leave the site as it is. It is easy on the eyes and pleasent to use. Also, shelve the grinning logo.
@Mike: Amazing how many people want us to leave eSnipe as it is. I’m beginning to think we’ll need some kind of setting for that. Grinning logo: Good news is, it’s the EasyOnMe logo and not eSnipe. Bad news is: I just like it too much. You will still see it on eSnipe ads, but it’s never going to be part of the eSnipe site Overruled, and sorry, but thanks for letting us know your druthers!
Cheers,
Tom Campbell
Thanks, Mike.
But I *like* the grinning logo!
Cheers,
Tom Campbell, CEO
eSnipe, Inc.
Tom: Yours is the one site on the internet that performs 99.999 per cent of the time reliably and as promised. It is simple and effective. There is no need to change perfection. I wouldn’t be using the site and E.Bay for that matter (I’m a long time user of both) if it was not for your simple yet effective program.
The idea of informing other e.snipe users that my bid would exceed their’s defeats the whole purpose of e.snipe and is the one thing that would cause me to stop using e.snipe. Being able to place a last second bid while I go about doing the important things of life is what it is all about. If I have to be tied to my computer because of being possibly blindsided by my eSnipe is not acceptable!
Ed Lewis
@Ed, well thought out. As I contemplate the redesign I am amazed at how many people are giving me similar feedback. The if-it-aint-broke maxim seems to carry extra freight with eBay users. Can’t imagine why…
